Notice of Resumption of Presentation of "Union Membership Card"

We have been temporarily suspending the service of presenting your membership card and receiving visitor's price at the cash register of each Co-op store, in order to avoid unnecessary confusion at the store cash registers due to the introduction of the University Co-op App and the replacement of cash registers following the change of the payment system.
We apologize for the temporary suspension without sufficient advance notice to our members due to circumstances at the Co-op.
We are now ready to resume the service, and will resume the presentation of membership cards on July 24 (Mon.).
In addition, non-members (nonmembers) will be charged the "Non-member price difference"^※1 at the time of payment from September 19 (Tue.).
※1 Please refer to the following for details on the "Non-member price difference"
 
 Union Members 
Please be sure to bring the following items when using the Co-op store.

• Smartphone registered with the University Co-op App
• University Co-op IC card
• Other proof of membership such as a paper membership card

 For those who have not yet joined the Osaka University Co-op (non-members) 
Please come to the following Co-op counter for the subscription procedure.

Co-ops are organizations that are funded, used, and operated by their members.
In accordance with the Consumer's Cooperative Association Law, you must join and become a member of the Co-op in order to use the store.
We ask for 60 units of 18,000 yen (for students, faculty, and staff (full-time)). The amount will be returned upon graduation, retirement, or other withdrawals.

 

For those who have not yet joined the Osaka University Co-op

Information on how to join the Co-op

Please inquire at the Co-op subscription counter at each campus to apply for Co-op membership.

1. Please bring your ID (student ID, faculty/staff ID, etc.).
2. Payment of the subscription fee (The subscription fee will be returned in full upon graduation or withdrawal. 300 yen per subscription). The following contributions are required depending on your affiliation.)

 

Undergraduate/graduate students	18,000 yen (60 units)
International students	3,000 yen (10 units)
Faculty (full-time)	18,000 yen (60 units)
Faculty (part-time)	9,000 yen (30 units)

After depositing your investment, you will receive a "temporary membership card (paper)" until you can register for the University Co-op Application. This "temporary membership card" can be used as a membership card.
※However, electronic money and meal plans are not available. Please understand.

About the Membership Card
Please install the University Co-op App (official) on your smartphone and use it.

【Non-member price difference】^※1
From September 19, 2023 (Tuesday), if you do not present your membership card when paying at the cash register of any Osaka University Co-op store, you will be charged the "difference in non-member price" according to the amount spent, as shown in the list below.
※1 No refunds will be made after you forget your union membership card and receive the difference in the non-membership price.


 When using each cafeteria    ※Advance reservations for box lunches, parties, etc.
When you use the purchasing and travel services at each store [Shop], the "Non-member price difference" table will be applied.

【exclusion】trade (money) certificates，publication，Travel Service Products ※Book purchases are not eligible for the [Non-member price difference].
※The difference in the price for nonmembers will be used to cover the cost of the project to give back to our members.
